Thank you for your interest in sponsoring the World’s Greatest Bicycle Parade. This fundraising event is a unique way of showcasing your business while the Davis community challenges the Guinness World Record of 916 bicycles for the Longest Single Line of Bicycles, highlights the U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame, and raises funds to support our schools. These three components, along with the Davis Odd Fellows Lodge #169 and our volunteer community, will create promotional opportunities in a variety of market segments.
Event Summary
On Sunday, October 2, 2011, the Davis Odd Fellows and the community of Davis will join together to break the Guinness World Record for the Longest Single Line of Bicycles. The current record stands at 916 bicycles. Our parade of bicycles and riders will travel a four-mile parade route, starting in Downtown Davis, travelling along community streets, and returning back to Downtown Davis and Central Park, home of the U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame, where we will enjoy an afternoon of celebration, food, and entertainment.
Our goal is to raise money for the Davis Schools Foundation (DSF). The current economic situation has taken a tremendous toll on education across California. The World’s Greatest Bicycle Parade is our way bringing the community together and supporting Davis Joint Unified School District (DJUSD). Your sponsorship of this event will help us achieve this goal.
Advertising Opportunity
The groundwork required to make this the event of the year is in place. We have a well-organized army of Davis Odd Fellows and local volunteers that will ensure our success.
We have the full backing of the DJUSD and the DSF, giving us the ability to connect with the children, parents, and educators in our community. We believe in the importance of education and the recent budgetary issues are severely impacting the bedrock of what makes this nation great; the education of our future entrepreneurs and leaders. By supporting our schools, we can ensure that we protect our future economic health.
The Davis City Council, the Davis Downtown Business Association, and many downtown businesses fully endorse this event and the publicity it will bring. Davis is a vibrant community that has much to offer to residents and visitors alike. From boutiques to restaurants and from local entertainment to the U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame, there is something for everybody here in Davis. As thousands of event participants come to our downtown to help break a world record and support our schools, you will be recognized as a leader in community support.
The Guinness World Record component adds another dimension to the advertising opportunities that are offered as part of sponsoring this event. Breaking the world record for the Longest Single Line of Bicycles provides us with the ability to reach far beyond our local community, garnering interest on a national level and quite possibly on an international level.
